Foresters edged out by Defiance

In a tightly contested match, the Defiance College men's tennis team edged out the Foresters 5-4.

After the duo of Matt Cable and Keaton McDonald picked up the lone win in doubles play, the Foresters grabbed three wins in singles action to keep things exciting. At #1 singles Gonzalo Vivas had his hands full with Will Draur but finally wore his opponent down to claim the three set victory. Matt Cable made quick work at #5 singles to defeat Austin Gray 6-2, 6-1. At the top of his serve and volley game, Paul Hageman cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win at #6 singles.

"This was a very tight team match against a very good non-conference team," said Coach Ferguson. "The difference came down to a few big points in several key matches that could have altered the outcome in HU's favor."
