KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2012 Men's Tennis All-Americans and for the second time in as many years, Huntington University sophomore Vlad Khudziy was among the list of honorees. The list of honorees includes 16 student-athletes on each of the first and second teams, plus 18 honorable mentions.
After receiving Honorable Mention honors as a freshman, the Moscow, Russia native was named to the Second Team this year. He compiled a 17-5 singles record at the Foresters’ No. 1 spot and was even more lethal in #1 doubles where he and senior Augusto Velez went 20-2. He was a repeat Mid-Central Conference (MCC) First-Team All-Conference pick and was the only MCC player to earn First or Second Team All-America honors.
Khudziy continues to make a name for himself with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as he successfully defended his ITA Midwest Regional singles crown this past fall to once again earn an automatic bid to the ITA National Small College Championships where he finished eighth. He also teamed up with Velez to claim the ITA Midwest Regional doubles crown. They went on to finish fifth at the ITA National Small College Championships.
