The Foresters (8-11) evened their conference record at 3-3 with 5-1 and 8-0 wins over Grace College.
In the opener, the Lancers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, but HU responded with two in their half of the inning to take the lead for good. Lauren Ward reached on an error and later scored on a single by Tabitha Truax and Brittany Gower knocked in April Snider on a double to left.
The Foresters added a run in the third to make it 3-1 and then put the game out of reach with one in the fifth and a solo homerun over the leftfield fence from Ward in the sixth.
Kendra Stahl was the only player to have two hits in the game for HU. She led off with a triple in the bottom of the first and ripped a double to left center in the fifth. Ashley Scally went the distance for the Foresters to pick up her second win of the season. She gave up an unearned run on two hits and two walks while striking out three.
In game two, Ward dominated on the mound to earn the 8-0 shutout. She allowed three hits and five walks while striking out seven. HU scored all they would need with three in the second, but added two more in the fourth and another three in fifth to bring the game to a quick end.
Brittney Bateman went 3-3 at the plate and drove in two to lead the Forester offense. Gower added a hit and two RBI.
