HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The HU softball program and Head Coach Doug Gower has announced the signing of South Putnam pitcher Kaylin Yon as the latest addition to the Forester squad.
Last spring the right-handed hurler helped guide her team to an IHSAA 2A State Softball Championship. During her time in red and blue, the program has amassed a record of 81-4 and logged three West Central Conference Championships and three Putnam County Championships to go along with three sectional titles.
With her final campaign in progress, South Putnam is currently 10-0 and ranked No. 1 in 2A. She is undefeated on the mound at 3-0 which includes a complete game victory versus last year’s 3A State Champions Roncalli High School and boasts a 1.75 ERA.
Last year she finished the season with a perfect 7-0 record and an ERA of 1.27. She compiled 50 strikeouts in 44 innings.
Yon is the daughter of Kellie and George Yon of Greencastle, Indiana.
