A partial Forester squad competed at the 2009 Pacesetter Invitational hosted by Indiana State University. A few HU competitors were seeking another chance to try to qualify for NAIA Nationals, while others, who have already met qualifying standards, were using the opportunity to stay sharp for the upcoming national competition.
Dan Lindbloom was the lone Forester to qualify for Nationals at the meet. He ran the 5000 in 15:11.28 to finish sixth and met qualifying standards in his second event. He had previously qualified in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Other HU men's results included a third place finish for Matthias Haller in the 800 in 1:54.65 and an eighth place finish for Nick Johnson in the 1500 in 4:02.17.
On the women's side, Lauren Davenport posted the top finish for the Foresters. She was third in the 400 with a time of 1:03.24. Kelsey Green placed fifth in the discus with a toss of 133-07. The women's 4x400 relay team of Josann Schoeff, Davenport, Michelle Kyler and Bethany McGraw, ran to a sixth place finish with a time of 4:04.39. Haleigh Osborne and McGraw both finished eighth in their respective events of the shot put (39-09) and the long jump (15-06.25). Schoeff was ninth in the 100 with a time of 13.13. Cassie Lehman was 11th in the 100 hurdles in 16.38 and Kyler placed 13th in the 200 in 28.27.
