Service named Forester Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of April 23-29, 2012. Women’s track freshman Racquel Service earned the honor for her outstanding efforts during the week’s competition.

Service, an undecided major from Lauderhill, Fla. (Boyd H. Anderson High School), dominated sprints to help lead Huntington to a third place finish at the Wilmington College Invitational on Saturday. She accounted for 28 of her team’s 102 points.

Service won the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.83 and followed up with a first place finish in the 200 meter dash (26.19). She was also a member of the second place 4x100 meter relay team that finished in 53.75.

Huntington will compete next Friday and Saturday in the Mid-Central College Conference Championships being held at Taylor University. 
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
