Spahr finishes 17th at indoor nationals

GENEVA, Ohio - Sophomore Gretchen Spahr represented Huntington University on day one of the 2013 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio Thursday afternoon.

11th-seeded Spahr wrapped up the indoor season with a 17th place finish in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18:27.33.

It marks the second time in as many seasons the Huntington native has made the trip to indoor nationals. As a freshman, Spahr was a member of the distance medley relay team that ran to an 18th place finish.

The Foresters now shift focus to the outdoor season where they are slated to compete in the J. Owen Huntsman Relays at Wabash College on March 16. 
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
