HUNTINGTON, Ind. - For the second time in as many seasons, sophomore Gretchen Spahr will be heading to Geneva, Ohio later this week to compete in the 33rd annual NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships to take place February 28 – March 2 at the SPIRE Institute.
The Huntington native (Huntington North HS) punched her ticket to run in the 5,000 meter run on February 16th at the DePauw University Indoor Classic. Her second place time of 18:10.46 not only qualified her for nationals, but also landed her the top spot in the HU records books, shattering the previous record by nearly 25 seconds.
Spahr enters the race as the 11th seed and will toe the line for the semis on Thursday, February 28th at 4:45 p.m. The finals are slated for Saturday, March 2 at 3:10 p.m.
