Fort Wayne, Ind. - It was a battle to the end as the Forester volleyball team took the University of Saint Francis to five sets, 25-21, 25-21, 23-25, 17-25, 9-15, before the Cougars handed HU their second MCC loss in as many days.
Huntington came out strong, stealing the first two sets from the home team but the Cougars came out firing in the third. They built an 11-point lead before the Foresters got back within striking distance but it was too little too late as Saint Francis notched the win and used this momentum to snag the next two wins for the overall victory.
Kaylee Searles led a balanced Forester attack with ten kills. She also added a team-high 16 digs. Melissa Grossman, Rebekah Brown and Brittany Rooze tallied eight kills apiece. Jensen Carnahan finished with 32 assists and four serving aces.
The Foresters have a break until next Wednesday when they square off against Indiana Wesleyan University at 5:00 p.m.
