The Foresters ended their conference regular season on a positive note with a 3-1 win on the road over Spring Arbor University.
After dropping the first game 30-27, Coach Schroeder made a lineup change that seemed to help HU shake off its sluggish start. They rebounded with a 30-23 win in game two by running more action in the middle. The Foresters continued to attack the middle in game three and outlasted the Cougars 30-28. They then put away Spring Arbor with the 30-24 win in game four.
Kayley Cervenka and Tiffany Malfait took advantage of their opportunities in the middle with 15 and 13 kills respectively. Amy Wilson also had 15 kills for HU. Kellie Hanson had 50 assists in the match. Stephanie Stearns had a team-high 19 digs and Katie Mitchel added 14 digs and four aces.
The Foresters improve to 17-11 on the year and wrap up their conference schedule tied for fifth place with a 4-4 record. HU will travel to #4-seeded St. Francis on Wednesday, November 9 at 7:00 p.m. for first round action in the MCC tournament.
