Just one week after arriving on campus, the Huntington University volleyball
team hit the road over the weekend to compete in the Grace College Tournament. The Foresters went 0-3 in pool play before knocking off Calumet College of St. Joseph in their final game of the tourney.
On Friday Bethel proved to be too much for the Foresters as the Pilots took HU down in three straight, 16-25, 10-25, 12-25. Denise Lehman led Huntington at the net with six kills while Kaylee Searles finished with 16 digs.
Up against a tough Indiana University - East team, the Foresters dropped their second game of the night, 11-25, 11-25, 17-25. Lehman again paced the Foresters with seven kills and Emilie Jamison dished out nine assists.
After losing to Mt. Vernon Nazarene on Saturday in their last game of pool play, the Foresters swept Calumet College of St. Joseph in three straight to earn their first win of the season, 25-10, 25-16, 25-7.
The Foresters' record stands at 1-3. They return to action on September 3-4 at the Cardinal Stritch University Tournament.
