Huntington, Ind.— The Huntington College athletic department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of October 25-31, 2004. Volleyball senior Jami Fusselman and men’s soccer senior Courtney Hamilton earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.

Jami Fusselman, a Mathematics Education major from Huntington, Indiana (Huntington North High School), helped lead the volleyball team to a 3-2 week. Fusselman, the Foresters’ setter, dished out 163 assists during the week. In Huntington’s Invitational on the weekend, she helped lead the team to a 3-1 record with her 127 assists in the four matches. She also had a season-high nine kills in the Foresters’ final match of the tournament, a five-game win over Marian College. On Wednesday, she had 36 assists in Huntington’s four-game loss to Marian. Fusselman is currently fifth in the Mid-Central Conference (MCC) with her 7.72 assists per game. The Foresters are next in action on Wednesday, November 3 when they host Bethel College at 7:30 p.m.

Courtney Hamilton, a business management major from Tobago in Trinidad and Tobago, had two strong showings in the Foresters’ two games during the week. As the Foresters’ goalkeeper, Hamilton anchored Huntington’s defense, coming up with five saves in Huntington’s 3-1 win over Indiana Wesleyan University and nine in their 3-0 loss to NAIA #9-ranked Bethel College. His outstanding effort in goal throughout the season was recognized with his third-consecutive First Team MCC All-Conference selection. Huntington’s loss to Bethel ended their season with a 7-9-2 record.
The Huntington College Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past seven years, Huntington has produced 49 NAIA All-American honors and 91 All-American Scholar Athlete honors.
