Mishawaka, Ind. - Hitting the road on back-to-back days didn’t fare well for the HU volleyball team as they dropped both matches over the weekend in three sets to remain winless in MCC play.
On Friday night, the Foresters fell to the Maple Leafs of Goshen College 25-17, 25-21, 25-21. Kaylee Searles led a balanced attacked with eight kills and 12 digs. Brittany Rooze tallied seven kills, eight digs and three serving aces while Heather Medich and Melissa Grossman each finished with four kills. Jensen Carnahan dished out 19 assists in the losing effort.
Playing in Bethel College’s resurrected Goodman Gymnasium on Saturday, the Foresters could never get into much rhythm as they dropped a straight set decision to the Pilots 25-21, 25-14, 25-15. Rooze and Searles led the Forester attack with six and five kills respectively. Medich finished with four kills, five digs and three blocks. Carnahan handed out 18 assists to pace HU’s offense.
The Foresters are back in action on Wednesday when they host 15th-ranked Taylor University.
