In their final regular season match, the Foresters downed the University of Michigan-Dearborn in four games, 23-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-23.
After dropping game one, the Foresters responded by winning three straight games. Brittney Smelser led the balanced attack with 16 kills and 13 digs. Stacie Hoffman and Amanda Meyers finished with 9 kills each. Meyers also recorded 17 digs and two aces. Alyssa Schroeder had 40 assists, two blocks and two aces. Denise Lehman chipped in 15 digs and two blocks.
"We played very consistent tonight. I was afraid after a hard fought win last night that we would come out flat," commented Coach Schroeder. "We were a little tired but I felt we did a nice job maintaining our intensity throughout the match. Amanda and Alyssa had a great match."
The Foresters move to 17-15, 3-5 in MCC action. HU (#7 seed) will travel to Marian University (#2 seed) on Tuesday for the first round of the MCC tournament.
