HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington volleyball team was clicking on all cylinders in game one against the Lancers Wednesday night as they posted a 25-21 win before Grace College stormed back to take the next three, 25-18, 25-14, 25-19, for the come-from-behind win and their eighth conference victory.
It marks HU’s second loss to the Lancers this season. Grace swept the Foresters 3-0 back on September 7.
The Lancers, who have been receiving votes in the national polls throughout much of the season, outhit HU 42-40 and put up a wall at the net to finish with ten team blocks to the Foresters’ six.
Heather Medich continued her hot hand at the net to finish with a team-high 12 kills. Abbey Keister added ten more while Melissa Grossman logged eight kills with a .300 hitting percentage. Katie Bowers tallied 17 digs. Jensen Carnahan dished out 37 assists to go along with ten digs.
The Foresters (3-14, 2-8) take a break from conference play on Saturday when they head to Aquinas College for a one-day tournament.
