Berry, Ganton named Forester Athletes of Week

Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 20-26. Women’s basketball senior Amy Berry and men’s basketball senior Kyle Ganton earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.

Amy Berry, a public relations major from Marion, Ind. (Oak Hill High School), helped Huntington get off to a good start in Mid-Central Conference play. In the Foresters’ first league game against Marian College, Berry took game-high scoring honors with 27 points to lead Huntington to the 62-54 road win. Berry is leading the Foresters in scoring with her 19.5 points per game, and she adds 4.3 boards per contest. The Foresters (5-1, 1-0) return to action on Nov. 29 when they host the NAIA Division II 8th-ranked Cougars of the University of St. Francis at 7 p.m.

Kyle Ganton, an elementary education major from Coldwater, Mich. (Bronson High School), continued his solid play from a week ago to help the Foresters put two more wins under their belts. The senior forward averaged 19.5 points and five rebounds in Huntington’s two victories. Against MCC foe, Marian College, Ganton hit for 18 points and added four boards in the Foresters’ 87-55 win, and he topped all scorers in the Foresters’ 90-65 victory over IU South Bend game with his 21 points. NAIA 2nd-ranked Huntington returns to action on Nov. 28 when they travel to Fort Wayne to take on the NAIA 20th-ranked Cougars of the University of St. Francis at 7 p.m.
