Huntington North High School senior, Lauren Davenport, signed a Letter of Intent to continue her stellar basketball career at Huntington College this fall. Davenport, who took over the point guard position as a freshman, helped lead the Lady Vikings to a 76-17 record during her four years. As a senior, she averaged 7.1 points, 5.6 assists, and 2.9 steals for the 21-3 Huntington North squad. Davenport finished her career with 419 assists, which put her second on the Lady Vikings' all-time assist list, and she tallied 195 steals in her four years, putting her fifth on that career list. Davenport also has been very successful in the classroom, which earned her Honorable Mention Academic All-State honors.
Huntington College basketball coach, Lori Culler, is looking forward to Davenport's addition to the roster. “Lauren knows how to win, which is a result of playing in a very successful program. She handles the ball well and is an extremely hard worker. I expect her to make a quick transition to the college game with all of the experience she has gained as a four-year starter for the Lady Vikings."
