Led by Sarah Miller's career-high 28 points, the Foresters (16-6, 7-3) notched their fourth consecutive MCC road win by defeating Grace College (7-17, 3-8) 78-64 on Saturday afternoon.
Recording their highest first half output of the season, Huntington scored 47 points by shooting 55% from the field while limiting their turnovers to six. HU outscored the Lancers by 16 in the first ten minutes of play to take a 24-8 lead behind a team effort in which five different Foresters put points on the board. The Lancers responded with a 6-0 run to close within 24-14 at the 6:57 mark but it would be as close as they would get. Lauren Meese put the final explanation point on the half with a three that sent the Foresters into the locker room with a 17-point advantage, 47-30.
After a productive first half, the Foresters came out sluggish in the second. HU went scoreless the first three and a half minutes of play until Miller finally got a jumper to fall. Fortunately the Lancers didn't capitalize on HU's sloppy play as neither team could get into any sort of offensive rhythm. Up 67-50 with just over seven minutes to play, the Foresters put together a 6-0 run in a 90-second span to take their largest lead of the contest at 76-54. The game closed with a 10-2 Grace run but it was too little too late.
Joining Miller in double digits was Courtney Beerbower with 16 points and seven rebounds. Meese chipped in 15 points and seven assists while Jenna Donaldson added ten points on 5-for-6 shooting. Kayla Skaggs was the lone Lancer to score in double digits with 11.
