Forester bowlers are sectional bound

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – USBC Collegiate has announced their sectional assignments and the Huntington University men's and women's bowling teams are both headed to Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, TN, March 14-16, for intercollegiate sectionals.

It marks the first sectional trip for the HU men and second for the women. Singles competition is slated for Friday, March 14 followed by team competition on Saturday and Sunday where teams will bowl 32 Baker games each day.

The top four teams will then advance to the national finals on April 17-18 in Reno, NV, where they will face the top four finishers from the other three sectionals sites held in Allentown (PA), Addison (IL) and Fort Worth (TX).

Competing in singles and team action for the Forester men will be Seth Walker, Daniel Miller, Joe Miller, James Knapp, Connor Brown, Tyler Neff, Adam Jay Harris-Shoemaker and Derek Beckler while Emilio Chantaca will only compete in the singles portion of sectionals.

The HU women, ranked 22nd among all women’s college bowling teams according to the power rankings on www.collegbowling.com, will be represented by Shelby New, Emerald Leong, Emily O'Leary, Ayla Yeiter, Brooke Ewing and Casandra Griffith.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
