HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University Head Coach Ryan Burgher and the women’s soccer program are excited to announce the signing of Oakland Christian High School standout Rachel TerMarsch.
With her senior season still upon her, TerMarsch has accumulated numerous awards as a three-year starter for the Lancers. She has been among the team leaders in scoring the past two years and for her efforts has received back-to-back All-District and All-Conference honors. In the offseason, TerMarsch has played club soccer for the MetroStars and Michigan Impact.
TerMarsch is also a member of Oakland Christian’s cross country team where she has been equally successful. A three-time All-Conference and All-Region runner, TerMarsch has earned MVP honors two years and currently holds the Lancer cross country record.
TerMarsch has also made a name for herself academically and as a campus leader. She has earned Academic All-State honors the past three years. She is a two-year member of the National Honor Society and has been named to the High Honor Roll each of her prep years. In addition to promoting spiritual growth among her peers as a L.E.A.D. team member, TerMarsch participates in service projects throughout the year as a member of NHS and the Detroit Servathon. She is also a four-year member of Student Council where she currently serves as president.
The Holly, Michigan native who is yet to establish her major is excited about attending HU. “I chose Huntington because I wanted to attend a university that coupled a great education with a strong spiritual emphasis. I want to be challenged academically and grow spiritually, and I feel God directed me to Huntington to achieve that. I am looking forward to meeting new people and deepening my relationship with Christ."
“We are very excited to have Rachel join our program here at Huntington,” stated Coach Burgher. “She has been on campus a few different times and really fits in well with the team. Rachel is going to really push the other girls in the program. She is a solid player, very fit and very competitive. I know that Rachel is going to set a tone the very first day she gets here, and that is something I’m very excited about.”
Rachel is the daughter of Lorne and Angela TerMarsch.
