Winning two of three doubles matches gave the Foresters the edge they needed to top Taylor University 6-3.
Stephanie Strong and Raelyn Althoff led the Forester charge with two wins apiece in the match. The pair outlasted the Trojans 9-8 at #1 doubles and then both picked up wins in singles. Strong got the 6-2, 6-2 win at #1 and Althoff went 6-4, 6-4 at #2.
Other winners included Katie Sprunger and Liz Hull (8-6) at #3 doubles, Calli Fike (6-0, 6-2) at #4 singles and Jessica Deter (6-1, 1-6, 6-4) at #5 singles.
“Our doubles are getting better every match,” said Coach Turner. “We still have a ways to go, but we are starting to make better decisions and put the ball away when the opportunity comes.”
The Foresters improve to 3-2 on the season and 2-1 in conference play with the win.
