The Ohio Northern Polar Bears put HU on ice with an easy 7-2 win. The Foresters #1 doubles team of Stephanie Strong and Kendra Ganz heated things up a little for HU. The pair got the Foresters' lone doubles win (8-5)and kept their record spotless in the process. In singles play, a nagging injury kept Ganz out of the play, so the bottom four players were forced to move up a spot. As a result, the matches weren’t as close as they might have been. Strong also kept her singles record unblemished with HU's only win at #1 singles, a 6-3, 7-6 victory over Kaitlyn MacDonald.
“ONU is a very talented team,” said Coach Turner. “They are pretty strong up and down their lineup. I was pleased with the way we played despite the scores. Our ladies fought hard the entire match. Their girls were just able to finish points and we couldn’t.”
The loss drops the women to 2-3 on the season.
