It was a disappointing day for the Foresters as they lost to Taylor University, 7-2. Freshmen Stephanie Strong and Kendra Ganz remained undefeated with an 8-6 win at #1 doubles and Strong kept her unbeaten streak alive at #1 as she defeated Katie Clark 6-3, 6-1. The only other close singles match for the Foresters came at #6 where Elizabeth Hull lost a three-setter to Kelly King 6-3, 1-6, 6-2.
“We are still a very young team,” said Coach Turner. “I think we will be a much better team in the future, but Taylor has a lot of seniors and their maturity was evident today. I am disappointed in the loss, but we will bounce back and learn from our mistakes.”
With the loss, the Foresters fall to 2-2 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
