Online program ranked sixth in nation for Christian colleges

HUNTINGTON, Ind.— Huntington University has been ranked sixth in the nation for Online Christian Colleges & Universities for 2011. Huntington offers online degree programs through its EXCEL Adult Degree Programs and the graduate school.

The rankings were compiled by The Best Colleges, a publication that reviews publicly available data and then produces independent ranking assessments of colleges in various disciplines. Rankings were based on schools that exemplified a Christ-centered education as well as meeting the following criteria: student satisfaction (as measured by graduation and retention rates), peer and instructional quality (as measured by acceptance rate and student-teacher ratio), affordability (as measured by tuition costs and availability of financial aid), and credibility (as measured by years of accreditation, reputation, awards and job placement record).

“We are so pleased to have our online programs recognized by The Best Colleges,” said Dr. Rick Upchurch, director of EXCEL. “We pride ourselves on offering a quality, convenient, Christ-centered education, and these rankings affirm the positive feedback we have received from our online students.”
