Susie Burson, assistant professor of education, passed the Peer Award to Dr. Ruth Nalliah. Nalliah is professor of chemistry and has been with HU for 14 years.
In recognizing Nalliah, Burson wrote, “For several years, Dr. Ruth Nalliah has collaborated with me to present ‘Whiz Bang Science’ as part of Science Discovery Day on our campus for local elementary students. Although this is not part of her job description, she has willingly planned and presented chemistry demonstrations for our young guests, providing for them an exciting glimpse into the work and world of a scientist. I appreciate Dr. Nalliah’s collegiality, collaborative spirit and her flexibility in working with those outside her department. But, most of all, I appreciate her enthusiastic and expert encouragement of the next generation of scientists.”

I just really appreciate her so much – she has a servant’s heart. I can see Christ shine through her and her work. She is always so prompt in her work – when asked for assistance, it is done immediately. I can always count on her.”
