Huntington, Ind.—Recipients of the Huntington University Peer Award for the month of June are Shannon Wilson and Francis Jones.

Margaret Pasko, administrative assistant to the vice president for student development, passed the Peer Award to Shannon Wilson. Wilson is an admissions counselor and has been with Huntington University for three years.
In recognizing Wilson, Pasko said, “Shannon is a joy to be around, and I appreciate her willingness to venture into the wonderful world of working with international students. Her abilities and attention to detail, but especially her encouragement, has been incalculable to me in regards to the development of the new procedures and forms we are working on for our international student program. Thanks, Shannon, your love for these students is apparent in every thing you do.”

Dr. Bill Bordeaux, professor of chemistry, passed the Peer Award to Dr. Francis Jones. Jones is professor of mathematical sciences and has been with Huntington University for 35 years.
In recognizing Jones, Bordeaux said, “Francis has been a role-model colleague for me since my coming to Huntington. He has modeled good scholarship, excellent teaching and the ability to maintain high standards while being sensitive to student needs. He is one who is truly focused on the instruction of undergraduates with the goal of transforming them into capable professionals. I also value his historical perspective on Huntington University, having studied here as an undergraduate as well as his 35 years on the faculty. His insights, knowledge of faculty governance issues and his ability to get to the heart of issues without being distracted have helped me to deal with difficult concerns. Finally, I value Francis as a friend and fellow connoisseur of everything chocolate, and I enjoy his dry wit as well as his wisdom.”
