University invites community to free ice cream social

Huntington, Ind.—Huntington University invites the local community to join in celebrating the institution’s recent transition to university status with a free ice cream social during Homecoming & Family Weekend. The public is cordially invited attend the event from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., on Friday, September 30, 2005.

Ice cream will be provided by Mackinac Creamery while Sodexho will supply cookies and beverages. Free Huntington University window clings will also be distributed throughout the evening.

During the social, which will be located on the mall in front of the Huntington Union Building (HUB), a special time capsule will be prepared for interment. In addition, the Homecoming coronation will take place inside the HUB at 6 p.m.

Following the social, the Fred Garbo Theater Co. will entertain an audience in the Merillat Centre for the Arts. Tickets are available for the fast-paced, energetic, universally engaging theatre spectacular that has won the praise and affection of audiences around the world.
