John W. Paff, APR, has served since 1993 as the chief communication officer of Huntington University, an independent liberal arts college in Huntington, Indiana. As Vice President for University Relations, he has supervisory responsibility for the University's media relations and news bureau, comprehensive web site, flagship magazine and other publications, internal communications, graphic standards, general (non-recruitment) brand marketing, as well as constituent programs for alumni, parents, and grandparents.
In 2005, Mr. Paff was appointed as the first chair of the Commission for Public Relations Officers of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities. In this role, he helped plan the annual professional development conference for CCCU communication officers, and he chaired the Strategic Communication Pre-Conference at the 2006 International Forum for Christian Higher Education in Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Paff has been an early adopter of new technologies to serve the public information needs of Huntington University. He launched the university’s first web site in 1995, and has served as webmaster since that time, managing a highly complex, multi-author web site while maintaining graphic identity and consistency of message. He has also led the University's initiatives with various social media, including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
From time to time, Mr. Paff has has served as a freelance web developer for non-profit and commercial enterprises, including museums, community-based sites, medical practices, real estate brokers, and industrial enterprises. Paff completed Certified Developer Training for Ektron CMS.400 v8 (Nashua, NH) in 2010.
