If you aren’t able to catch Amy Mattox at her desk, you might just find her in the classroom. In the midst of serving as the senior admissions counselor at HU, she also serves as a part-time professor teaching Public Speaking and University Life. Her education in communication and public relations prepared her for the classroom. But it is her heart that makes her successful as an admissions counselor, professor, and mentor on HU’s campus.

Amy says: “I just love working with the high school and college-age student. They are at such a crossroads in life, and it is amazing to see them grow right in front of my eyes! It is important to me that I not only provide incoming students with the information they need in order to become a Huntington student but that I also help to teach and guide them once they are here. I take the ‘counselor’ part of my title very seriously!”

Get to know Amy

If you came to hang out with me on a weekend, I would probably be…

…hanging out with my husband and trying to prepare for our first child who is on its way!  We love to visit family and friends and we also like going on dates to dinner and a movie.  These days, we also have fun trying to pick out furniture and decorations for the baby’s nursery!  We are also very involved with our church, so you’d definitely see me singing in the choir on Sunday morning.
