Location,
Location, Location
Huntington University is located at
2303 College Avenue (get map) in
Huntington, Indiana, a community of 20,000
inhabitants. The city is situated on "the banks of the Wabash" River. Its
healthful climate, beautiful scenery, splendid commercial location,
fine churches, and excellent school
system make Huntington an excellent college city.
The university buildings are located on
a large and beautiful campus in the northeast section of the
city of Huntington. Its drives, walks,
groves and ravines make it unusually attractive throughout the year. The campus consists
of over 160 acres, largely wooded, and includes a central pedestrian mall with its
memorial fountain; the academic building axis on which are located several new buildings
including the Science Hall main
as well as
the revered administration building, Becker Hall; the small campus lake with its focal
interest; modern residence halls and the apartment village defining the living areas; and
athletic fields and facilities rounding out the campus. The
Thornhill Nature Preserve north of campus,
just minutes from campus, provides a beautiful setting for classes and
meetings.
Huntington has its own airport for private aircraft, while
Fort Wayne
International Airport provides commercial air service only 30 minutes away.
