Breast Cancer Awareness Week
October 17-24, 2007

Information Tables
Habecker Dining Commons and Norm’s Place

Information about breast cancer and pink ribbons will be distributed.
Luminaries in honor of or in memory of those who battled any type of cancer will be sold for $1.
 
Discussion/Breast Exam Demonstration
(open to female students, faculty and staff)

Friday, October 19, 2007, noon to 1:30 p.m.
Room 150 of the Merillat Centre for the Arts

Bring your lunch for an informal discussion with Dr. Pat Pierce, assistant director of nursing. A breast model will be available for demonstrating how to do a self-exam.
 
Panel Discussion
Monday, October 22, 2007, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Hiner Hall (the Science Hall)

Join us for a panel discussion about the effects of breast cancer. Sharon Woods, HU’s director of financial aid, will share about her battle with breast cancer, and Betty Knipp, mother of HU alumna Mary Knipp, will give insights as a family member of someone who coped with breast cancer. Prof. Margaret Winter, director of nursing, will provide a medical perspective. Chapel credit will be given for the attendance of this event.
 
Luminary Lighting
Wednesday, October 24, 2007, 8 to 11 p.m.
The central mall

Luminaries will be lit in honor of or in memory of loved ones who have battled any type of cancer. Luminaries may be purchased for $1 in Habecker Dining Commons or the Huntington Union Building during lunch and dinner hours. If you are unable to make it to those locations, you may contact either Heather Barkley or Margi Roush to purchase a luminary.
