Breast Cancer Awareness Week

Information about breast cancer and pink ribbons will be distributed.
Luminaries in honor of or in memory of those who battled any type of cancer will be sold for $1.
 
Women's Soccer Game vs. IWU

The women's soccer team will recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Week by wearing a pink item of clothing during this home game. Fans are encouraged to support the team and the cause by wearing
pink, too!
 
Paint the Campus Pink
Monday, October 26, 2009

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear pink on this day to acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness Week.

Sodexo will commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Week by serving pink food in the D.C. during dinner. The staff also will wear pink aprons to show their support.
 

Coffee & Conversation
Tuesday, October 27, 2009, 7 to 9 p.m.
Coffee D'Vine, 44 Vine St., Huntington
Chapel credit will be given for this event.


The Rev. Bill Fisher, and his wife, Ramona, will share about Ramona's battle with breast cancer.

Attendees who wear something pink to Coffee & Conversation will receive a 50-cent discount on any pink drink they order. Pink drinks include

  • Smoothies (Starburst, Very Berry, Jolly Rancher, Strawberry, Raspberry, and Strawberry and Peach)
  • Cold Drinks (White Chocolate Mocha with Cherry, Raspberry or Strawberry; Italian Soda, blended or over ice, with Cherry, Raspberry or Strawberry; and Cherry, Raspberry or Strawberry Latte)
  • Hot Drinks (White Chocolate Mocha with Cherry, Raspberry or Strawberry; Cherry, Raspberry or Strawberry Steamer; and Cherry, Raspberry or Strawberry Latte)
Luminary Lighting
Wednesday, October 28, 2009, 8 to 11 p.m.
The central mall

Luminaries will be lit in honor of or in memory of loved ones who have battled any type of cancer, not just breast cancer. Sign up for a luminary in Habecker Dining Commons or the Huntington Union Building during lunch and dinner hours Oct. 21-28. We ask for a donation of $1 for each luminary to be paid at the information tables or at the luminary lighting. If you have any questions, contact Heather Barkley or Margi Roush. If you cannot attend the event and would like a luminary lit on your behalf, please put $1 per luminary in campus mail to Heather Barkley with a note that includes your name and the name of the person you wish to honor or remember.
