Professor Michel has won numerous awards for her work as an art educator. Before joining the HU art department she taught secondary visual arts for 12 years at the public school level. She has presented at state and local art education conferences and she serves as the faculty advisor for HU’s Student Art Education chapter. Michel exhibits her art regionally, including the 2010 Artlink University Faculty Exhibition and the 2009 Indiana State Fair Open Exhibition. She has also juried a number of regional art exhibits including student shows, the Honeywell’s Clark Gallery Black and White Photography Exhibit and the Charley Creek Arts Festival to name a few. Courses that Professor Michel teaches at HU include art education, drawing I and II, figure drawing, Introduction to Art, art history, 2-D design and basic drawing.
