The Crossroads League has announced its baseball postseason awards for the 2013 spring season and among the list of Gold Glove honorees were seniors Adam Christner and Josh Lanphier.

After knocking off 6th-seeded HU in 14 innings in the opening round of the Crossroads League tournament on Wednesday, 3rd-seeded Mount Vernon Nazarene University only needed nine innings to eliminate Coach Frame’s squad, 6-3, from the tourney and bring the Foresters’ season to an end.

With only a twenty minutes break after their 14-inning loss to Mount Vernon, the 6th-seeded HU baseball team bounced back to overpower 7th-seeded Bethel College 7-2 at Indiana Wesleyan’s Wildcat Field Wednesday afternoon in second round action of the Crossroads League tournament.

It was a two-for-one deal at the Crossoroads League Baseball Tournament for the Mount Vernon and Huntington fans as Wednesday’s opening round between these two teams took seven extra innings, another entire game, to decide the outcome with 3rd-seeded MVNU outlasting 6th-seeded HU 6-2.

The Forester baseball team wrapped up its regular season on Saturday with a pair of losses to Spring Arbor University, 3-0, 3-1. With these losses, HU (11-23) falls into the No. 6 spot in the conference standings with a Crossroads record of 11-13.
