The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced its fall sport Scholar Athletes and 19 Huntington student-athletes representing five different teams were among the list of honorees.

For the third consecutive year, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that Huntington University has been named a recipient of the Champions of Character Five Star Award for the 2012-13 school year.

In the summer of 2013, Huntington University faculty, staff and students took the institutional mission to “impact the world” literally as they traveled nearly 30,000 miles round trip to serve on three continents. The mileage they logged surpassed the circumference of the Earth – 24,901 miles.

The Crossroads League announced its 2013 Volleyball All-Conference Teams on Tuesday and four Foresters, Melissa Grossman, Jensen Carnahan, Heather Medich and Abbey Keister, were among the list honorees.

The Huntington University Department of Athletics announced its 2013 class of Hall of Fame inductees. The inductees, Eric Ade, Stephanie (Stearns) Lochmueller, Kent Paul and Doug Sheckler, were honored for their contributions to the Forester Athletic Department at the annual Hall of Fame Induction Luncheon on Saturday, November 9 at the Habacker Dining Commons.

The Forester volleyball team wrapped up its season Saturday afternoon at the Lourdes University Tri-Match where they went 1-1 to finish the year with an overall record of 8-23.

The HU volleyball team stole a set from the conference’s top team but would get no closer as Bethel College wrapped up the regular season with a 3-1 win, 25-23, 19-25, 25-14, 25-19, over the Foresters Tuesday night.

Indiana Wesleyan University continues to dominate Crossroads League play and Wednesday night it was at the expense of the Forester volleyball team as the Wildcats cruised to a 3-0 win, 25-13, 25-12, 25-11, at Luckey Arena.

With just a handful of conference matches remaining, the Forester volleyball team was in desperate need to pick up a few more wins in order to secure a spot in the post-season tourney but it wasn’t to be this weekend as HU dropped a pair of Crossroads matches to sink into ninth place in the league standings.
