3.15.04 - The Foresters continued their hot hitting and combined it with solid pitching to shut out Concordia University (WI) 12-0 in their first spring break game in Daytona Beach, Florida.  HC dominated the Falcon's pitching staff, pounding out 14 hits and scoring in all but one of its six at-bats in a game shortened to seven innings by the 10-run rule.  Josh Clark took the mound for the Foresters and pitched six and a third scoreless innings before turning the game over to Kurt Cline to finish.  Clark gave up just three hits and four walks to the Falcons and struck out eight.  HC's Brian Porter picked up three hits in the game and helped his slugging percentage by connecting for his third and fourth homeruns on the season, his first a solo shot and his second a two-run dinger.  Marc Roth also had three hits in the game, a single, a double, and his first round-tripper of the season.  Roth and Porter both knocked in three to lead HC.  "We had a pitching match-up that we needed to take advantage of and we did," said Coach Frame.  "Our quality at-bat percentage for the day was very good.  Josh Clark was a little inconsistent, but still threw the ball very well.  When he threw strikes, he was dominating."  With the win, the men improve to 3-4 on the season.
