3.19.04 - After
jumping out to a 6-0 lead through two innings of play, the Foresters
fell 13-10 late in the game to Missouri Baptist University.
The Spartans battled back to knot the score at seven after five
innings. HC wasted no time reclaiming the lead with a run in
the top of the sixth and added two more in the eighth, but Missouri
Baptist rallied with six runs in the bottom of the eighth and held
the Foresters scoreless in the ninth to steal the win. HC
tallied 17 hits in the game to nine for the Spartans, but committed
three errors while the Spartans had none. Joel Kennedy
had four hits in the game to lead the Foresters and Marc Roth added
three hits and three RBI. Josh Lahr (0-1) came in in relief of
Josh Clark in the loss. "We were pretty good at the
plate, but once again we made too many mistakes on the mound and in
the infield," said Coach Frame. "We have too many
players hurt and our pitching is just young." The loss,
their fourth in a row, drops the Foresters to 3-8 on the season. |
