3.23.04 - The Foresters remained undefeated in conference play with their doubleheader sweep of the Goshen College Maple Leafs winning 10-3 and 6-3.  In the opening game, HC exploded for nine runs in their final at-bat to get the come-from behind win.  The Foresters had seven of their 18 hits, including two doubles and a homerun by Tim Burris, in the inning.  Four Foresters, Joel Kennedy, Greg Slee, Brian Porter, and Marc Roth, each had three hits in the game.  Josh Clark (2-1) picked up the win in relief of Aaron Klopfenstein.  In the nightcap, HC used the long ball to out-distance Goshen.  Kennedy (2-2), who got the complete game win for the Foresters, helped himself with a two-run round-tripper in the second, Slee added a solo shot in the third, and Porter went deep in the fifth.  Roth completed the Foresters' scoring in the sixth with a two-run double.  Kennedy gave up three runs on 11 hits while striking out five.  "This is the first day that our pitching was more of a story than our hitting," said Coach Frame.  "Even though we had 27 hits in the doubleheader, our pitching and defense were very good.  We got some bog hits when we needed them, but we were not sharp at the plate."  The sweep gives HC a 6-8 record overall and 4-0 record in the MCC.
