4.1.04 - The
Foresters and the Grace College Lancers squared off in a
doubleheader pitching dual that finished with Grace winning game one
1-0 and HC winning game two 2-0. In the opening game, the
Foresters out-hit Grace 6-3, but it was the Lancers that were able
to manufacture a run the top of the fifth to earn the victory.
Aaron Klopfenstein (1-3) went the distance for HC in the loss,
giving up one earned run on three hits and no walks while striking
out four. In the nightcap, Forester Joel Kennedy (3-2) pitched
a complete game shutout for his third win of the season. He
gave up five hits and one walk and struck out three. HC got on
the board in the bottom of the first when Levi Sell scored on an
error by the Lancers' third baseman. The Foresters added an
insurance run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Steve Orth.
Marc Roth led HC with two hits in the game including a double in the
first inning that helped set up the first scoring opportunity for
the Foresters. With the split, the men are now 7-10 on the
season and 5-1 in conference play. |
