4.29.04 - The Foresters got some timely hitting in game one to beat the Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan 4-2, but made a couple costly mistakes to give away game two 6-5.  In the opener, Marc Roth got a two-out single to bring in HC's first two runs in the top of the third, and Joel Kennedy's one-out double in the sixth plated the last two.  Aaron Klopfenstein (3-5) picked up the complete game win for the Foresters. He gave up two runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out six.  Game two was a seesaw battle with two ties and four lead changes.  The Foresters grabbed the early lead with two runs in their first at-bat.  The Wildcats tied the score with two in the bottom of the second, but HC moved back in front with a run in the top of the third.  In the bottom of the fourth, Wesleyan took a 4-3 lead with two more runs, but again the Foresters answered with a run in the top of the fifth to knot the score at 4-4.  HC took advantage of a stolen base by Tim Burris and a Wildcat throwing error to re-claim the lead at 5-4 in the top of the seventh, but couldn't make it stand in the bottom half.  A hit batter and a mishandled bunt situation allowed Wesleyan to rally for the 6-5 win.  Josh Lahr (0-2), who was on in relief of starter Jason Stanley, took the loss for the Foresters.  He gave up two earned runs on six hits and one walk in two and two-thirds innings.  With the split, the men move to 16-21 on the season and 12-12 in the MCC.
