5.12.04 - The Foresters gave the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) top-seeded Indiana Tech Warriors a battle but fell 8-7 in 11 innings.  Aquinas College then ousted HC from the tournament with a convincing 14-4 win.  In the opener, Indiana Tech took an early 4-1 lead after two innings, but two long balls in the top of the fifth put the Foresters on top.  HC's Brian Porter led off the inning with a solo jack and five batters later with the bases juiced, Aaron Klopfenstein belted his first homerun of the season to give the Foresters a 6-4 lead.  The Warriors battled back with two in the bottom of the sixth to tie it at 6-6, a score that held through the next three innings.  In the top of the tenth, HC got the go-ahead run on a clutch two-out RBI double by Tim Burris, but couldn't make it stick as Indiana Tech evened it up again in their half of the inning.  After holding the Foresters in the top of the eleventh, Indiana Tech hit a two-out, solo homerun off relief pitcher Josh Lahr (0-3) for the win.   In game two, HC owned a 4-0 lead after scoring three runs in the top of the fourth, but then the wheels fell off.  Aquinas scored nine unearned runs in their half of the fourth and the Foresters never recovered.  The Saints went on to score another run in the sixth and three more in the bottom of the seventh to bring the game to an abrupt end by the 10-run rule.  Joel Kennedy (7-4) took the loss for HC.  He pitched six innings and gave up 10 runs, one earned, on 11 hits with one walk and three strikeouts.  The Foresters conclude their season with a 19-23 record.
