02.24.05 - The Foresters (0-1) opened their spring season with a 5-3 loss to Lambuth University (6-6) at the Sport Plus Rehab Classic in Jackson, Tennessee.  Despite being the first time HC stepped on a playing field, the Foresters hung tough with the Eagles who were playing in their twelfth game of the season.  HC got on the board first with a run in the top of the third, but Lambuth answered back with one in their half of the inning.  The Eagles added two more in the fifth and one in the both the seventh and eighth to take a 5-1 lead.  In the top of the ninth, freshman Austin Kas got things started for the Foresters with a one-out single.  Tim Burris singled, moving Kas to third, and then Brian Porter singled Kas in.  Burris then scored on an Andy Janzen single, but Porter and Janzen were left stranded as the Eagles ended HC's rally.  Janzen led the Foresters with three hits in the game and Thad Frame and Porter each added two.  Josh Clark pitched six solid innings for HC in the loss.  He gave up three runs on seven hits and two walks and struck out two.  "We played pretty well for the first time out," said Coach Frame.  "We didn't execute a couple of times defensively and offensively with runners in scoring position, but overall, there were a lot more positives than negatives for our first time on a field."
