04.19.05 - It wasn't pretty, but HC found a way around seven errors and 20 Cougar hits to get two wins, 9-6 and 8-7, in their doubleheader with the University of St. Francis.  In game one, the Foresters put together back-to-back big innings to take command of the game.  They scored four times in the third, added three more in the fourth, and headed into the seventh with a 9-4 advantage.  St. Francis picked up two unearned runs in their final at-bat before HC's Ryan Roth halted their rally attempt for his second save of the year.  Josh Clark (3-5) went six innings in the win.  He gave up six runs, four earned, on 11 hits and one walk while striking out five.  The Foresters who came up with 15 hits in the game, were led by Andy Janzen's double and two singles.  Tim Burris also had three hits in the game and Brian Porter added a double and two RBI.

In the nightcap, St. Francis jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two plate appearances, but the Foresters combined three hits with of two Cougar errors and a couple hit batsman to put six on the board in the bottom of the second.  St. Francis got two back in the top of the fourth and tied it at 6-6 with one in the seventh forcing yet another extra-inning game for HC.  Things looked bleak when the Cougars pushed one across in the top of the eighth, but Porter and Janzen came up big for the Foresters.  Thad Frame drew a one-out walk to get things started in the bottom of the eighth.  Porter belted his second double of the day to score Frame and even things at 7-7.  Janzen then stepped to the plate and singled to bring in Porter for the game-winner.  It took a group effort to get the victory as four different pitchers went to the mound for the Foresters.  Michael Dalton (2-1) was the final hurler to get the call and benefited from the late inning rally with the win.  Jason Rahn had a team-high three hits for HC and Porter led the team with two RBI.

With the two wins, the Foresters improve to 12-18 on the season and 7-7 in conference play.
