- HC's pitching staff pieced together two shutouts, 2-0 and 4-0,
to get the sweep over the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats. In game
one, Josh Clark (2-4) went six innings and gave up just three hits and
two walks while striking out two and Jeremy Rodibaugh set the Wildcats
down in order in the top of the seventh to pick up the save.
Brian Porter, Andy Janzen and Matt Hesting each had two hits in the
game for the Foresters.
In the nightcap, HC came up with
another shutout by committee. Ryan Finn (2-1) got the start and
went five innings, giving up three hits and two walks and striking out
one. Jason Stanley then went an inning and two-thirds in relief
before Rodibaugh took over to get the final out and his second save of
the day. Porter continued his hot streak with three more hits
and a team-high three RBI. Jason Rahn added two hits. The
Foresters' defense also played a big role in the two shutouts, playing
errorless ball in both games and turning four double plays on the day.
With the sweep, the Foresters improve
to 8-14 on the season and bring their MCC record even at 3-3. |
