Huntington College head baseball coach Mike Frame has announced
the signing of two more players for next year's squad, Mark Miller of
Crestview, Ohio and Korey Grow of Sullivan, Indiana.
Miller, a pitcher and outfielder for
Crestview High School, will join the Forester program as a freshman
this fall. As a junior the right hander went 6-1 with a 0.55 earned
run average. This spring he is 6-2 with a 0.67 earned run average. In
52 and 2/3rds innings pitched, he has 65 strikeouts. Miller has also
thrown two no hitters this spring. At the plate Miller is hitting .316
with two homeruns and 22 RBI.
“We are very excited that
Mark has chosen to attend Huntington,” says head baseball coach Mike
Frame. “Crestview has a fine baseball program and Mark will have the
opportunity to help us on the mound and in the outfield. He works very
hard and has had a fine high school career. We feel like his best days
are ahead of him on the baseball field. We are excited to add such a
fine young man to our program.”
Mark is the son of Nick and Lisa Miller
of Convoy, OH.
Korey Grow has committed
to transfer from Evansville University to play baseball at Huntington
this fall. During his senior year at Sullivan High School, Grow hit
.466 with 14 home runs and 38 RBI. Grow was named All-State both his
junior and senior years and was named Honorable Mention All-State as a
sophomore. In 2004, Grow was named as the Indiana High School Junior
Offensive Player of the Year. In that year, Grow became one of only
three players in Sullivan High School history to hit over .500. He
graduated from Sullivan with a .429 career batting average and holds
seven single season or career hitting records.
“We are tremendously
excited that Korey has chosen to transfer to Huntington,” stated Coach
Frame. “He is a truly outstanding offensive player and will make a
huge impact for us right away in the outfield. He has all the things
you want in a player. He is aggressive, athletic, works extremely
hard, and hates to lose. He is also a very good student and a young
man of very high character and integrity. He enjoyed a great high
school career and played on one of the best summer programs in the
country, the Indiana Bulls.”
