University
has announced that Muncie Central High School senior Ty Riddle has
signed a letter of intent to play baseball and basketball for the
Foresters this fall. As a junior, Riddle hit .415 with three home
runs and 35 RBI. He also was 6-1 on the mound with a 2.81 ERA. In
64.2 innings he struck out 103 batters. This past winter Riddle
helped lead the Bearcats to the state finals with a 13.1 scoring
average. Riddle shot over 41 % from behind the arc and over 90 % from
the free throw line.
“We
are very excited that Ty is coming to Huntington,” says head baseball
coach Mike Frame. “He will help us at a position and on the mound
right away. He will add another left handed arm on the mound and
another left handed bat in the lineup. He is a strong competitor that
hates to lose.” Head basketball coach Steve Platt adds, “Ty is a very
driven and competitive player that knows what it takes to win. His
ability to shoot threes helps keep the defense honest.”
