04.04.06 - It was a tale of two games.  In their opener against Indiana Wesleyan University, the Foresters (12-11, 1-3) struggled to get their bats going and fell 6-2, but in the nightcap, HU pounded out 18 hits to earn the split with a 14-4 victory.

In game one, Indiana Wesleyan got all the runs they would need with three in the bottom of the second.  The Foresters got one back in the fourth, but the Wildcats plated two in their half of the inning.  The teams traded one more run in the sixth to complete the scoring.

Blake Hindsley and Austan Kas each had two hits to lead the Foresters and Hindsley and Levi Sell each drove in a run.  Michael Dalton went the distance for HU in the loss.  He gave up six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three.

In the nightcap, the Forester bats slowly came alive.  Sell got HU on the board first scoring on a passed ball in the top of the second, but Indiana Wesleyan was aided by two hits and an HU error in taking back the lead with three runs in their half of the second.  Both teams pushed one across in the third, but the Foresters finally got the upper hand with four runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth.  Their six run explosion in the top of the seventh was all academic.

Keith Benbow swung the hottest bat for HU in the game, going 4-4 at the plate and driving in four runs.  Andy Janzen added three hits and two RBI.  Sell went 3-4 and scored four runs, and Zach Crooks had a hit and three RBI.  Ryan Roth was the Foresters' pitcher of record in the win.  He went five innings and gave up four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four.
