FACILITY CALENDAR

04.06.06 - It was a different day, but the results were the same as the Foresters (13-12, 2-4) again split a pair of games with Indiana Wesleyan University.  As was the case two days ago, the Wildcats claimed game one, this time winning 7-1 and HU came back with an 8-1 victory in game two.

In the opener, IWU did most of its damage with a six-run fourth inning, effecting erasing the Foresters' 1-0 lead they had established in the first.  The Wildcats got five hits in the inning including a pair of doubles and a three-run homerun. IWU added one more run in the fifth and then held the Foresters scoreless the rest of the way.

HU's Brad Meyer was the lone Forester with two hits in the game.  Drew Taylor took the loss for HU.  He allowed six runs on seven hits and struck out two in three and two-thirds innings of work.

In game two, both teams pushed a run across in the third inning, but HU took the lead for good with three in the bottom of the fifth.  Keith Benbow was hit by a pitch to start the inning and moved to second on an infield single by Austan Kas.  Andy Janzen then delivered the big blow with a three-run shot to left.  Two Wildcats errors helped the Foresters add four more runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach.

Josh Clark (3-4) went the distance to pick up the win for the Foresters.  He allowed one unearned run on four hits with four strike outs.  Korey Grow went 2-3 at the plate and drove in two runs and Levi Sell added a single and a double for HU.  Janzen led the team with three RBI.
