04.08.06 - The Foresters (13-14, 2-6) battled back to tie both games of the doubleheader with Grace College only to let them slip away late losing 7-5 and 5-2.

In game one, the Lancers built a 5-3 lead through six innings, but with HU down to its final out, Korey Grow came up with a clutch two-run triple to even the score at 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh and send the game into extra innings.  Neither team scored in the eighth, but Grace took advantage of three walks, two hits and a Forester error to take a 7-5 lead in the top of the ninth.  HU never threatened a second rally as they went down in order in the bottom of the ninth.

The Foresters committed five errors in the game that led to three unearned runs.  Grow, who came on in relief of Eric Randel in the ninth, took the loss.  He allowed two runs on two hits and three base on balls.  Austan Kas and Grow each had two hits in the game.

In the second game, HU erased a 2-1 deficit with a run in the bottom of the sixth, but then gave up three in the top of the seventh to lose another one late.  Brad Meyer and Zach Crooks both got singles to start the bottom of the seventh, but Grace got the next three Foresters in order to complete the sweep.

Trent Huffman went six and a third innings in the loss for HU.  He gave up five runs on 10 hits while striking out one and walking one.  The Lancers out-hit HU 10-6 in the game.  No Forester had more than one hit in the contest.
