Huntington University has announced that
Huntington North High School graduate Tyler Gressley will join the
Forester baseball program this fall. During his senior year in high
school, Gressley hit .365 with two home runs, 10 RBI and eight stolen
bases. Gressley was a 2006 Second Team All-Conference selection in the
North Central Conference.
“We are excited that Tyler has decided to
attend HU,” said head baseball coach Mike Frame. “He had an
outstanding senior season for the Vikings, but we think his best
baseball is ahead of him. As an outfielder, he can run and has good
arm strength. He is a very good athlete. He has a strong work ethic
that will allow him to develop into a very solid player at our level.
He is an outstanding young man that is another great addition to a
good recruiting class this fall.”
Huntington University is a member of the Mid-Central Conference (MCC)
and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). On
the baseball field, HU has captured the MCC regular season championship
or conference tournament championship 26 times in 46 years. The
Foresters have also had eight former players go on to careers in
professional baseball, including Heath Luther with the Anaheim Angels
in 2001 and Greg Slee with the Seattle Mariners in 2004.
Tyler is the son of
Gerald and Barbara Gressley of Huntington, IN. |
